Morning Light Karina & September Sunshine are Proofs of a numbered edition of one hundred screen prints in a set of four. Dr. Lloyd Rees C.M.G receive the inspirration for this work in the Bathurst area while staying at the homme of J&S Pollard at “Karinya”, Duramana on the road to Hill End.
The set was printed by Robert Potter of Vogue displays by process screen print method using flat inks to achieve Dr. Rees’ glowing colour and atmospheric qualities.
Ken and Dawn Hobson published the prints. Some eighteen months elapsed from the time it was agreed to try and translate Dr. Rees’ later works in oils and watercolours, into prints that would be faithful to his colour and style.

Description of work- At the Edge of the Seventh Bolge, Inferno 11
A vertically orientated colour wood engraving depicting a scene from Dante Alighieri’s. Inferno, at the Edge of the Seventh Circle or Bolge. The scene is of many contorted and stretched naked figures in shades of grey, dark blue, ochre, and with touches of red and pink. Underneath the figures is a red cartouches with the artist’s signature (on the plate). At lower right is embossing with the artist’s signature on the diagonal. The print is in very good condition and is framed in a gilded wood frame with white linen mate which has a gilded banding. (Information from Studio 95 gallery)
