Painter, sculptor, printmaker, mural artist, theatre set designer and film animator.
Born Prague, Czech Republic, coming to Australia in 1971. Lived and worked in Hobart, Tasmania. His etchings of food, wine, sex and love earned him early renown. Further creativity saw his work develop in many forms including cut out wooden mosaics, with reoccurring motifs including the smiling man and gloved puppets.
Extensive exhibition history in Tasmania and around Australia, since 1971. International exhibitions in USA, Switzland, Czech Republic, Japan and Singapore.
Major commissions include Foyer of the Federation Concert Hall ‘Meditation’, History of Wine-making in Tasmania, Meadowbank Winery Richmond, Hobart Business Centre, Theatre set designs, community and private murals.
Collections include Australia National Gallery, state and regional galleries, Artbank, corporate and private collections.
