Susie Bootja Bootja
This painting features some aspects of the country of Susie’s birth, and it is known as Kurdal.
This is the country where Susie lived and hunted with her family as a young woman. The E
shape is a parma, or hill near which Susie and her family would camp. In the hill was a cave
or pingki. Below the hill is a waterhole, known as Kurdal. Depending on the time of year,
people sometimes had to dig for water at Kurdal. The remainder of the painting depicts
tjunda, or bush onion which is widely found in this area.
